Scheduled for July 2025, the Sixth Sense workshops offer a unique opportunity to explore the power of sensory perception in theatrical storytelling. Led by Ukrainian directors Kateryna Lukianenko and Daria Ivanova, the workshops will take a practical approach to exploring touch, hearing, smell and taste, and will help participants discover new ways to express emotions and tell stories.
Attendees will be introduced to the fundamentals of sensory theatre and provided with practical tools to create accessible and engaging performances. Through a series of exercises and creative activities, participants will learn to incorporate all five senses into their storytelling, making the stage more inclusive and meaningful for a diverse audience.
The programme also provides an opportunity to reflect on inclusivity in contemporary theatre and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by people with visual impairments.
The Sixth Sense workshops are ideal for anyone eager to develop their artistic skills, whether they are professional performers, in training, or simply curious. All activities are designed to be fully accessible to people with visual impairments.
Program
The project includes three identical training programmes, each lasting 5 or 6 days, with a maximum of 15 participants to ensure a personalised learning experience.
Each programme culminates in a collective performance open to the public, which will be repeated in several locations. After each performance, the group will move to a new location, adapting the show and engaging with different audiences.
