Sixth Sense
Sixth Sense is a section of the international Limitless project dedicated to sensory theatre, an innovative and inclusive form of performance that stimulates all the senses except sight. Created by Ukrainian director Kateryna Lukianenko, the project enables audiences to experience theatre in a new, immersive way that transcends linguistic, cultural and physical barriers and fosters deep connections between spectators and performers.
The project promotes greater awareness among artists, researchers and the public by inviting everyone to experience what it means to live with a visual impairment and reflect on the everyday challenges this entails. At the same time, Sixth Sense Theatre seeks to preserve and promote contemporary Ukrainian theatre culture, which is currently under threat due to the political situation in Ukraine.
The project is the result of international collaboration with major European festivals, including Arrivano dal Mare! (Italy), SAMPO Festival (Finland) and Summer Puppet Pier (Slovenia), under the artistic supervision of Daria Ivanova, President of UNIMA (the International Union of Puppet Theatre). Supported by EFFEA (the European Fund for Emerging Artists), Sixth Sense Theatre has enjoyed great success at major European puppetry festivals.
In July 2025, workshops will be led by young Ukrainian directors Daria Ivanova and Kateryna Lukianenko, culminating in a public presentation.
