Agata Garbuio

She graduated in 2010 in Visual and Performing Arts and graduated in 2014 with professional qualification as an actress at the Accademia Teatrale Veneta (now Accademia Carlo Goldoni). Believing in continuous training, she participates in several workshops and seminars to refine her acting tools. In 2019 she attended the professional figure theatre course Animateria from which Hombre Collettivo was born, with which in 2020 she won the Premio Scenario Infanzia and in 2021 the Premio della Critica Direction Under30 with the show Casa nostra.
Strongly interested in popular theatre, she is passionate about the mask in all its forms, from its roots linked to carnival rituals to its construction and use.

In 2015 she co-founded with Claudio Colombo the company BRAT, in which she covers the roles of actress, mask-maker, trainer and organiser.

Since 2015 she has collaborated with the Pantakin company from Venice as an actress in various shows and events, including conducting the Venice Carnival in St Mark’s Square. She collaborates since 2016 with the Scottish collective Secret Ministry in performances and workshops in Italy and Scotland.
In 2018 she is an actress and masquerader in a Dutch production of Stichting Musica in Scena in collaboration with The Hague Conservatory, touring Northern Europe.

She is the creator and maker of anthropomorphic papier-mâché masks, used in: Hermanos by Teatro Stabile d’Abruzzo, Doppia Visione by Teatro del Silenzio, Amor sei tu by Associazione Teatrale Maranese, Il racconto d’inverno and Ma i giorni che ci hanno preso dove sono andati? by BRAT. He models and creates leather masks, used in: Harlequin and the Miser by BRAT; Tempeste d’amor perdute by Pantakin – Granguardia; Il bosco tornerà by Pantakin-BRAT. He creates wearable animal heads, an elephant and a donkey, for the show Fantasmagorie Pantakin-Teatro La Fenice-Woodstock Teatro. Creates and animates cardboard silhouettes for the show The Princess and Happiness by BRAT. He is responsible for the creation of scenic elements and small tailoring works for MALACARNE – The Ballad of Love and Power by BRAT-Pantakin.

He is dedicated to theatre pedagogy with courses and workshops for all ages and in different areas, such as the Master in 3D Animation BigRock (TV), the Theatre Royal in Dumfries (GB), the Attivagiovani Generazione Urbana course (TS), the Athena Città della Psicologia cooperative, the Accademia Musicale di Palmanova, the SpkTeatro company (PN).

Since 2015 she has been responsible for the organisation, administration and distribution of the BRAT company. In 2020 she works as an organiser for the Pantakin company from Venice.
